Thanks for visiting the River Cities Humane Society for Cats website.  All of our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, litter box trained, socialized, tested for Feline Aids/Leukemia and up to date on routine vaccinations.  River Cities cats are "indoor" only cats.  We have made this a policy because we feel strongly that indoor cats live longer and more healthy lives than outdoor cats

Please remember that requests to surrender cats must be called in to the Shelter at 318-343-3031. They cannot be handled through e-mail.

Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13th and Father's Day is Sunday, June 17th and what better way to celebrate these special days than by giving your loved ones a gift of kindness and compassion?  Send us a contribution of at least $15.00 in their honor, and we'll mail them a beautiful card to acknowledge your gift.  We must receive your request at least a week before the event to insure that they'll receive their card on time.

We are all saddened by the death of Carol Mills.  Carol loved cats and was a long time friend and loyal supporter of River Cities Humane Society for Cats. Carol Colson has established a website, www.carolsrescues.com, to help find homes for Carol Mills’ cats. 

Here’s the information from Carol Colson: 

 www.carolsrescues.com is the website that we put together in an effort to place some of Carol's dear cats in homes. Included are pictures of a few of the older ones that will not do well fending for themselves if they are abandoned. These older cats have all been spayed / neutered. There are quite a few younger ones that I do not have pictures of but anyone can call Emily to see the cats at feeding time. Her number is on the website. You can also contact me at 614-9231 and leave a message. I will definitely return any and all calls regarding this rescue mission.

 River Cities would appreciate any help that you can give to help find homes for Carol Mills’ cats.
